So i just got back from a trip to the UK. Went over there for work, but ended up doing a lot more than work :) (yes Paul, i actually WORKED while i was there too...). that being said, i didnt take any pictures of me working (mainly because its not allowed) but i DID take pictures of everything else :)

U2 Toronto 2009

On Wednesday i went to the U2 concert in Toronto.

It was pretty cool, they definitely went all out. the set was absolutely huge, it completely filled inside of the <strike>skydome</strike> rogers centre. and the screen they had was pretty cool too, it actually moved (up and down).

BBQ Smoker

So last Friday I bought a vertical smoker bbq. It stands about 4 feet tall and has 4 racks inside, in addition to a drip tray and a special place for the wood chip box right down over the flame. First thing I smoked on it, of course, was ribs. And while i was at it, i put in some tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeño peppers, and onions. with those, I made a real smoky pasta sauce. tasty stuff.

As of yesterday i have a gravel road. The city sent me a notice a week or two ago saying they were gonna repave, but didnt say when. yesterday i rolled in and when i got up for work, the road was gone...

Ribfest Etobicoke 2009

So i went to Ribfest in Etobicoke yesterday. It rained. I knew it was going to in advance though. The weather forcast said it was going to rain all week anyway. Of course, on the way home it cleared up, and has been clear since. Grrr. Oh well, I got tasty ribs.

House Ownership

So I've been a week now in my new house. It's nice to own, finally. Got the walls painted in the basement (thanks to those who did it), got all the stuff moved in, some of it unpacked even. Had my first bbq party. Back at work today for the first time in two weeks (95000+ emails later...) and man am I tired. Good thing I can kinda make up my own hours for the next month or so, definitely not coming in this early again...

Mmmm... more ribs... i went the opening day this year, as I had to work night shift that night. Got in there quick, got my ribs, then off to work. I'll go back Sunday afternoon if I can to get more, and to actually get some beer (drinking at, or before, work is frowned upon for some reason...)

My new house

I bought a house! After viewing countless places, sometimes up to 6 in a day (did about 2-3 days a week for a month or so), I found one I liked enough to buy. It just so happened that my realtor was representing the seller too. I got to view it before it even got on the market, which was a good thing, because the day it came on the market I had my offer in at 11am, and he still had *7* people who wanted to see it. I would imagine at least one of them would have immediately placed an offer too. I got in fast enough to lock everyone else out. It is in pretty damn good condition, freshly painted and some other repair jobs too (like new front windows) within the last 2 months. There is also some stuff scheduled to be completed by the seller before I move in too, like new front steps and back patio.

I will be taking possession on Friday August 29th, and moving in probably the following day. The weekend after (Saturday September 6th) I will likely have a party (read: bbq) for anyone who wants to come (assuming that I actually know you, no random strangers).
