So last Friday I bought a vertical smoker bbq. It stands about 4 feet tall and has 4 racks inside, in addition to a drip tray and a special place for the wood chip box right down over the flame. First thing I smoked on it, of course, was ribs. And while i was at it, i put in some tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeņo peppers, and onions. with those, I made a real smoky pasta sauce. tasty stuff.

Ribfest Kitchener 2009 started today. i went over and bought some ribs and took some pictures.

So i went to Ribfest in Etobicoke yesterday. It rained. I knew it was going to in advance though. The weather forcast said it was going to rain all week anyway. Of course, on the way home it cleared up, and has been clear since. Grrr. Oh well, I got tasty ribs.

Mmmm... more ribs... i went the opening day this year, as I had to work night shift that night. Got in there quick, got my ribs, then off to work. I'll go back Sunday afternoon if I can to get more, and to actually get some beer (drinking at, or before, work is frowned upon for some reason...)

I went to Ribfest in Etobicoke on July 1. I forgot to upload the pictures until just now. Damn it was a nice day too. The lines were too long, but the food was good.

So apparently this past weekend was Ribfest and Craft Beer Show in Kitchener, at Victoria Park. I didn't know this before Saturday night. Kinda wish i did, i woulda went on Saturday. But at least i got to go on Sunday. I woulda been real pissed if i had missed the whole thing.
There were only 5 rib vendors, but there were also about 10 beer vendors. They beer ticket tent sold small glasses for $5, about 3-3.5 ounces each, for the beer to be sold in (and only in). Why so small? Officially, they were "tasting" glasses. Branded right on the glass was the slogan Quality, not Quantity. That didn't serve most people well, as I saw a couple people go up to the individual vendors, order 1-2, drink them down on the spot, then order more to take back to their table.
Oh yeah, the ribs. I got a full rack from two of the different vendors. First one was real hot, tobasco flavoured. Glad i had beer to wash that down. Second one i brought home with me to eat later, and it was tasty, but even though i got extra sauce (which they initially forgot until i asked again as they were handing it to me) it still could have used more. I like my ribs pretty wet, i guess.
Damn, forgot to take pictures... Left my camera in the truck.

So yesterday i went to Ribfest 2007 in Etobicoke. Ate a lot of ribs. Not as many hot chicks walking around wearing next to nothing this year though, unlike last year. Got a couple pictures of some though. Brought home a rack of ribs as well this year, plan to eat them later today. Also bought a bottle of BBQ sauce from one of the vendors, Billy Bones. Damn that stuff is tasty. Pictures of everything here.

holy crap i havent posted anything in nearly a year... so, i went to ribfest in etobicoke yesterday... out of 40 some odd pictures, only 15 or so were any good. see them here

Another pig roast down. Tasty tasty. and too much beer left over too. Once again not as many people came as I thought were coming, and thus my keg is too full. I hope i can get people to come over and help me drain it.
